On Monday, President Donald Trump targeted electric cars by canceling a 2021 declaration that Biden signed, which aimed to guarantee that half of all new cars produced in the US by 2030 were electric.
U.S. and global manufacturers embraced Biden's 50% objective, which was not legally obligatory. In an executive order, Trump said that his administration will look into eliminating EV tax incentives, called for the termination of a waiver for states to adopt zero-emission car regulations by 2035, and stopped the transfer of unused government cash for vehicle charging stations from a $5 billion fund.
To comply with federal emissions regulations, Trump intends to order the Environmental Protection Agency to reexamine rules requiring automakers to sell between 30 and 56 percent electric vehicles by 2032. The U.S. Transportation Department will also issue parallel rules.
During his campaign, Trump pledged to increase U.S. oil output despite the fact that it has reached all-time highs and to reverse Biden's clean energy policies, including subsidies for solar and wind energy as well as the large-scale manufacturing of hydrogen.
