Agritech Startup 'Enfarm' Secures Seed Funding for Growth

A Vietnamese agritech startup Enfarm declared on December 26 that it had obtained a seed funding round headed by Touchstone Partners, in which Conservation Vietnam and Aiviet Venture also participated.

This investment will support Enfarm's objective to transform agriculture by providing farmers with data-driven insights to maximize yields while reducing environmental impact, even if the exact amount has not been revealed.

Enfarm tackles the crucial agricultural issue of wasteful fertilizer use by utilizing AI and the Internet of Things to maximize crop nutrition. This practice contributes to 5% of greenhouse gas emissions, wastes an astounding $120 billion yearly, and damages one-third of the world's crops. Real-time data from soil sensors and smartphone apps are used in the company's creative solution. Its technology offers lab-level accuracy on NPK measurements along with actionable suggestions driven by AI to drastically cut down on fertilizer waste and enhance crop performance.

The capabilities of enfarm's technology were demonstrated in recent field tests conducted on coffee fields in the Central Highlands. In addition to raising crop yields by 30%, farmers were able to reduce fertilizer consumption by an astounding 30%. Farmers in southern Vietnam, especially those who cultivate coffee and durian, have quickly adopted this strategy as a result of its success.

According to Khanh Tran, managing partner of Touchstone Partners, the company thinks that by tackling persistent issues in agriculture, technology can change farmers' lives. Enfarm's solution enables farmers to minimize agricultural waste and maximize fertilizer use by giving them access to real-time soil data. Enfarm increases productivity while assisting farmers in cutting expenses and improving their standard of living by making agricultural output more sustainable and efficient on a broader scale.

Dzung Do Nguyen, the CEO and co-founder of Enfarm, thanked major funds for their assistance in promoting sustainable agriculture. According to him, the investment will assist increase operations, cover more crops, cut product pricing, and enter ASEAN markets. Nguyen underlined the urgency, stressing that traditional farming is under risk due to climate change, and presented Enfarm as a revolutionary remedy. Low-carbon, high-yield farming can help meet the FAO's prediction that food consumption would increase by 70% by 2050.
