Nvidia plans to put its new humanoid robot powering technology on the market in the first half of 2025 in an effort to establish a presence in the rapidly expanding robotics industry.

According to a senior corporate official, Nvidia plans to launch its new technology for powering humanoid robots in the first half of 2025 in an effort to establish a presence in the rapidly expanding Nvidia robotics technology industry.

Nvidia Jetson Thor computers, which were first shown earlier this year, are a component of Nvidia's strategy for creating human-like robots. Improvements in artificial intelligence have increased autonomy, allowing robots to communicate more effectively with people and their environment.

The newest model in Nvidia's Jetson platform, a range of small processors intended for artificial intelligence applications is called Jetson Thor, and it is now robotics-focused.

Chief Executive Jensen Huang made a big impression with Nvidia's chips in these robotics systems by showcasing a variety of robots on stage with him at the company's annual conference in March.

Nvidia presents itself as a technology supplier, similar to how Google provides the Android platform to phone makers, rather than directly competing in the robot manufacturing industry, where businesses like Tesla have benefited from developments in electronics and batteries.

In contrast to the concentrated smartphone market controlled by a few major players, Nvidia is targeting a fragmented market of "hundreds of thousands" of robot makers, Vice President of Robotics and Edge Computing Deepu Talla told reporters on the sidelines of an Nvidia conference in Tokyo on Wednesday.

According to Talla, they are not creating robots; rather, they are giving robots a platform, mentioning partnerships with manufacturers of robots, including Siemens and Universal Robots.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, stated on X in July that the company's humanoid robot, Optimus, is anticipated to go into limited production by the end of 2025 for usage in Tesla facilities. By 2026, manufacturing is probably going to scale up for external clients.
