Reebok uses AI to create custom digital sneakers

Reebok is helping Instagram users create personalized sneaker designs with a new AI technology, as stated in a press release.

Reebok Impact makes money by leveraging the trend of wearables that can be bought with in-game currency or reward points. Reebok and Futureverse are giving sneaker fans the opportunity to design one-of-a-kind shoes featuring personal photo memories, bringing together emotions and style. This is different from the typical metaverse marketing strategy of promoting pre-made branded items.

Users can create up to four digital shoe designs for free. They can also transfer their skills to popular games like Roblox and Fortnite, which have increased marketers' interest in virtual cosmetics. One of the three recognizable Reebok models—the classic Pump, Classic Leather, or Club C—is the foundation for the designs.

It is anticipated that Reebok Impact will work with popular video games as well, such as Open, a highly anticipated online battle royale game. The release also stated that the Reebok Impact experience will offer rewards for in-person footwear sales. Reebok Impact demonstrates that, even though overall interest in the concept is decreasing, some marketers are still very focused on the metaverse. It shows how popular generative AI-powered products are becoming, like image generators and branded chatbots, as industry leaders push the boundaries of this cutting-edge technology.

Reebok CEO Todd Krinsky announced his excitement for the launch of Reebok Impact, calling it a major milestone in the company's history of innovation and technology. The company wanted to change the internet fashion world and give their customers a special and exciting experience with Reebok Impact.

Reebok and Futureverse have partnered to create their first product, aiming to keep the sportswear company up-to-date with artificial intelligence, Web3, the metaverse, and blockchain-based gaming.
