Due to terrorism threat, security will be increased in New York for the Pakistan-India T20I World Cup match on June 9.

There have been reports that a terrorist organization threatened to attack New York during the World Cup. Pakistan will only have two games in the city, whereas India will have four. Nassau County and federal law enforcement were working with New York Governor Kathy Hochul's administration to keep tourists and locals safe during the World Cup.

Hochul stated that there was "no credible public safety threat at this time," rejecting the threat reports. She did, however, add that they were constantly watching the situation at all times.

She said she had told the New York State Police to use stricter screening, more officers, and better monitoring. Her first concern was public safety, and they worked hard to make sure that everyone had a fun and safe time at the Cricket World Cup. The International Cricket Council has stated that safety and security are their top priorities for the event, even though they have not found evidence of the supposed threat.

India and Pakistan are scheduled to face off in the tournament on June 9 in New York. It is scheduled to begin on June 1. India won six out of seven matches against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, including the championship game in 2007 and the most recent one in Melbourne in 2022. From June 1 to June 29, three US locations and six West Indies locations will host the T20 World Cup. At Dallas' Grand Prairie Stadium, the US will play their neighbor, Canada, to start the tournament.
