The Open Platform for Enterprise AI will spearhead the development of open, robust, multi-provider, and composable GenAI systems that are flexible, scalable, and enterprise-grade.

LF AI & Data Foundation launched the Open Platform for Enterprise AI (OPEA) with the help of various technology companies. This has the potential to revolutionize the way enterprises can leverage generative AI, by removing the current uncertainties surrounding its scalability and interoperability across various business systems.

Leading the way in the creation of flexible, scalable, enterprise-grade, open, resilient, multi-provider, and composable GenAI systems is the goal. Prominent tech companies such as Intel, VMware, Red Hat, SAS, Cloudera, MariaDB Foundation, Anyscale, and DataStax have all endorsed the project. The LF AI & Data Foundation extends an invitation to other members to get on board.

Ibrahim Haddad, Executive Director of LF AI & Data, said that OPEA would create new AI opportunities by developing a comprehensive, modular framework at the forefront of technology. OPEA emphasizes open model development, standardized modular pipelines, and compatibility with a range of compilers and toolchains. Haddad stated that this project is proof of their commitment to promoting open-source innovation and collaboration in the data and AI sectors, within a transparent and impartial governance framework.
