IBM Consulting aims to develop a suite of apps for managing airline operations

IBM has unveiled the latest advancements in its partnership with Riyadh Air, the digital-native airline set to launch operations in early 2025, with the goal of revolutionizing the airline's travel experiences. Riyadh Air aims to introduce cutting-edge guest and traveler interactions, leveraging IBM Consulting's extensive ecosystem of business partners and industry expertise in strategy, experience design, technology, and operations. The collaboration was officially announced during a signing ceremony at the 3rd edition of LEAP 2024, an international technology conference held annually in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, attended by Tony Douglas (Chief Executive Officer, Riyadh Air), Arvind Krishna (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, IBM), and executive management from both organizations.

Tony Douglas, CEO at Riyadh Air, expressed the airline's commitment to shaping the future of air travel through innovation, stating that the collaboration with IBM aims to create a transformed passenger experience that is seamless, personalized, and sustainable. He highlighted the utilization of the latest technologies, from AI-powered check-in systems to immersive in-flight entertainment, to enhance air travel for all passengers. IBM Consulting will also utilize Adobe Experience Cloud and Adobe Experience Platform to streamline end-to-end customer experiences across digital channels, including marketing, customer data solutions, and digital experience orchestration. The partnership builds upon Riyadh Air's ongoing collaboration with IBM Consulting, establishing the technology foundation for the digitally-led airline with the aim of connecting passengers to global destinations by 2030.
