In an exclusive Interview with Business Fortune, Jaclynn Morgan, CEO and Co-Founder of Healthvice, shared the inspiring story of the company’s founding, its innovative AI-powered app WellFed, the difficulties faced, and its goal of making healthy eating easy, sociable, and enticing. How did Healthvice begin? What is the story of the company?
I helped my friend’s partner, who had been unable to find relief from endometriosis pain through traditional doctors and treatments. She would often be incapacitated for 3 to 4 days each month during her cycle due to severe pain and cramping. Since conventional approaches hadn’t worked, I asked if a dietary approach had ever been considered to address the chronic inflammation associated with the condition. They had not.
I explained the concept of an anti-inflammatory diet and how it might help reduce her pain. I emphasized that strict adherence was essential, as it required a lifestyle change. The goal was to minimize chronic inflammation in her body, thereby reducing the pain during her menstrual cycle. My friend and I spent nearly two days researching reliable, science-backed information on anti-inflammatory diets, including recipes that were both effective and enjoyable.
She followed the diet diligently, and after almost four months, her pain had decreased so significantly that she barely noticed her cycle. Additionally, she lost weight, slept better, and gained confidence. We applied the same approach to address my friend’s IBS issues, which also saw positive results.
Through this experience, we recognized a niche in the market that was both necessary and underserved. This lead to my friend and I co-founding Healthvice Inc in March 2023. After conducting market and brand research, we launched our brand, WellFed, and have continued to develop and enhance our all-inclusive platform for food accommodation and dietary assistance.
How has the company grown since its foundation? What are some of the factors that have led to the growth of the company?

We developed a mobile app that is active nationwide and available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The app is backed by a patent, a team of brilliant developers, and a partnership with Burton Algorithms – a team of Stanford and Harvard engineers – who help train our AI. Our Culinary Director, Alex Nurmi, is a celebrity chef with an impressive background, having worked with numerous major international brands through his food styling company. He is also one of only two food ambassadors for Finland.
We are onboarding additional chefs into our chef portal, where they gain exposure in the culinary industry, contribute recipe content to our database, and generate personal revenue. We have formed several strategic partnerships and are in ongoing discussions to expand these collaborations.
Several factors have fueled the growth of our company: the persistent initiative and passion of our leadership team, the exceptional development skills of our full-stack developers, the strategic partnerships we have formed and leveraged over time, and the unique, inclusive nature of our product. Nothing else on the market offers what we provide – or how we provide it. Unlike other solutions that require users to download six or seven separate applications, our app consolidates all functionality into a single, comprehensive platform.

What were some of the key challenges the company overcame during its lifetime? What were the takeaways?
Some of the key challenges we have overcome include securing pre-seed funding, executing our patent strategy, hiring the right full-stack developers who are passionate about our vision and unafraid of the startup journey, and establishing strategic partnerships.
We have successfully acquired funding so far and continue to bring on investors who support the development of our unique market edge. Our patent is being expertly managed and monitored, our development team is robust, innovative, efficient, and closely knit like a family, and our strategic partnerships – such as with Burton Algorithms for AI training – are steadily growing in both number and value.

We also provide social dietary support, make event creation around food effortless, and help make the ‘HEAL’ in health accessible to today’s busy individuals. This approach is one of the most effective ways to address the health crisis America is facing today.
What are Healthvice’s plans for the future?
Our focus is to continue developing and enhancing the app’s functionalities, introducing new ways to make healthy culinary habits easier and more accessible. We aim to lead the future of flavor intelligence, where culinary art, health insights, and our technology converge to inspire better eating and enrich everyday life.
Beyond positively addressing the health crisis in America, our long-term goal is to grow the B2B side of Healthvice, serving both individual consumers and supporting organizations and companies within the food industry. Alex Nurmi is a versatile Finnish culinary professional with a career spanning more than 20 years. Born in Stockholm and raised in Turku, Finland, Alex trained as a professional chef and has worked both in Finland and internationally. Over the years, he has built a strong reputation as a TV chef, food stylist, food designer, and culinary educator.
Career Highlights
Television Chef & Culinary Producer: From 2004 to 2021, Alex worked at MTV3 as a chef and production manager for the popular TV show Mitä tänään syötäisiin? (“What’s for Dinner?”). During this time, he contributed to nearly 2,800 episodes, becoming one of the most recognizable culinary personalities in Finnish media.
Food Styling & Creative Work: Alex specializes in food styling, recipe development, and food design for magazines, commercial campaigns, and video productions. His work is celebrated for combining aesthetics, freshness, and a contemporary approach to food.
