Delhi Capitals Chase 155 to Beat UP Warriorz by 7 Wickets in WPL Clash at Navi Mumbai

A dominant opening stand led by Lizelle Lee powered Delhi Capitals Women to a convincing seven-wicket win over winless UP Warriorz in the WPL 2025–26 encounter.

In the Women's Premier League 2025-26 showdown, events took a turn when Delhi Capitals Women won by 7 wickets over UP Warriorz Women who played at Navi Mumbai's Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy. Both teams displayed excellent strategy with how they batted and how they responded to difficulty. UP Warriorz won the coin toss and chose to bat first scoring a total of 154 runs for 8 threaded together.

The anchor of UP Warriorz was none other than Meg Lanning who recorded a baking 54 runs in just 38 deliveries. Harleen Deol added another crucial 47 runs in an innings consisting of 36 X's. Unfortunately as UP Warriorz prepared for the match to end they lost a total of 6 wickets to the Londoners while not being able to finish strong and build on the energy they gained early in the game.

The Delhi Capitals' Opener Lizelle Lee came to play as the standout performer towards her way to 67 runs off 44 balls scattered with eight fournders and three massive sixes. Her partner Shafali Verma added to the attack with a solid 36 runs together for a good 94 run opening partnership that placed the base for victory. As the middle order took center stage, Jemimah Rodrigues maintained the motion with a quick fire 21 runs off just 14 balls.

The final moments of the match belonged to Laura Wolvaardt who remained winning at 25 and sealed the victory by striking the winning runs on the very last ball of the innings. The UP Warriorz bowling attack despite Deepti Sharma's early advance of two wickets ultimately proved ineffective against Delhi's determined batting lineup. This loss compounded the Warriors' struggles marking their third following defeat in the tournament and leaving them still searching for their first win.
