Airtel Africa Profit Boosted Now

Airtel Africa brought a strong performance exceeding expectations with impressive revenue growth and profitability.

Airtel Africa delivers impressive outcomes, strengthening its position as one of Africa's most prominent digital infrastructure and financial inclusion operators. Airtel Money emerged as a prominent growth engine during the years. The mobile money platform now has 52 million customers, surpassing the symbolic 50 million mark and growing at a rate of 17.3 percent annually.

Airtel Africa's entire user base increased by 10% to 179.4 million, indicating continuous demand for mobile connectivity across Africa. Data customers surged by 14.6 percent to 81.8 million, while smartphone penetration increased to 48.1%, highlighting the continent's rapid shift toward mobile-first digital services.

In response to the results, CEO of Airtel Africa, Sunil Taldar stated that in order to realize Africa's potential for long-term prosperity, Airtel Africa is stepping up its efforts in connectivity, financial inclusion, and digital innovation. In order to fulfill the growing demand for digital and financial services throughout the continent, he emphasized the company's increasing use of digitization and AI to enhance customer experience as well as deeper integration between GSM services and Airtel Money.

Data revenues became the Airtel Africa group’s largest revenue contributor, surged 36.5 percent, indicating how affordable smartphones and improved network quality are reshaping internet access across Africa.

The annualized total processed value surpassed $210 billion, a 36% increase, indicating increased use of digital payments throughout Airtel Africa's network and stronger merchant integration. In constant currency, mobile money revenues increased by 29.4%, and as consumers utilized the service more frequently, ARPU (average revenue per user) also increased. The business assured that it is still on schedule to list Airtel Money in the first half of 2026, a move that is closely observed by the fintech and capital markets in Africa.
