Business Fortune- Dimon Urges Mamdani to Emulate Duggan

Jamie Dimon advises new NYC mayor Zohran Mamdani to learn from Detroit’s achievements under Mayor Mike Duggan.

Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, provides Zohran Mamdani, the next mayor of New York City, with some suggestions: Talk with the man who was essential in rebuilding Detroit. Dimon has criticized Mamdani and stated that the new mayor of New York City could take an example from Mike Duggan, the current mayor of Detroit. Also, he hopes the newcomer calls up this mayor.

On Wednesday, Dimon told CNN's Erin Burnett in a live interview with Duggan, who will step down from the position next year and run for governor of Michigan. The JPMorgan CEO stated that he is open to talking with the self-described democratic socialist and left Mamdani a message on Wednesday.

According to Mamdani, universal agreement on every single issue shouldn't be an expectation for having a discussion, and he is looking ahead to meeting with Dimon.  Also, he is one of the business majors whose companies made investments in Detroit during its most tragic period.

After the Great Recession, Dimon said of Detroit. New York is very healthy, but this wasn't like that. However, Dimon stated that it is still unclear whether Mamdani will be successful and that his ability to carry out his plan will be main.

Dimon stated that he has seen a lot of political leaders including governors and mayors. Some become experts in their work. They make life greater, reduce crime, and improve healthcare. The ambulance timings are fixed. On the other hand, he added some mayors get incredulous about the work. Also, he has seen many people when it comes to the affecting part, they collapse to the point that they are unable to achieve their objectives no matter where their heart is.

JPMorgan revealed on Wednesday that its investment in Detroit is now over $2 billion, and the bank's main location in the city will relocate to Hudson's Detroit, a fresh downtown building.
