Iran 2025 Report: US-UK Rights Violations

Iran’s Foreign Ministry criticizes the US and UK of arrogance, highlighting domestic violations and involvement in international human rights abuses.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs published its annual report on the US and the UK's alleged domestic and international human rights violations on Sunday. Iran has published these severe assessments. Numerous topics covered in the previous year's edition are addressed in this year's report.

The Iranian Parliament announced a resolution in 2012 demanding that its Ministry of Foreign Affairs keep an eye on and report on human rights violations in the US and the UK. The 2025 US report focused on domestic human rights breaches caused by widespread gun violence and police officers' illegal use of force, both of which negatively affect minorities.

According to the report, it reveals how human rights have been exploited as a tool to secure its geopolitical and financial interests. Also, Iranian officials have stated that this interventionist inclination can be seen by the US government's approval of the Israeli Zionist government in systemically violating the human rights of Palestinians and committing genocide in Gaza.

The UK study focused on both domestic and foreign crimes, including complicity in the genocide in Gaza, discrimination against minorities, and the use of illegal police force. The report highlighted many violations of counterterrorism measures that breached the right to peaceful protest at home.

For the past 12 years, the US has released an annual report on Iran's human rights violations, which was released in 2024. These violations included planned or illegal deaths; missing persons; torture or cruel, inhuman, or degrading healthcare or punishment; and many other crimes.

Regarding alleged human rights violations in Iran, the UK has recently published a number of papers and statements. In a speech to the UN and the World Trade Organization in March, Simon Manley, the representative of the UK Parliament, described how the Iranian regime has strengthened a system that targets women, girls, and religious minorities, which leads to human rights violations pertaining to these groups.
