Business Fortune: Trump Queries Apple’s India Move

President Trump questioned Apple, Meta, Google, and Microsoft about their US investments during a White House dinner with leading tech executives.

US President Donald Trump questioned Apple CEO Tim Cook about the company's investment in the US during a high-profile dinner with Silicon Valley elites at the White House. The inquiry appeared to be concerning Apple's activities in India, as the iPhone manufacturer is making a significant return from outside.

During a meeting that included Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Google’s Sundar Pichai, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, and Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, President Trump directed a question to Apple CEO Tim Cook regarding the company's shifting business strategies and its intentions to increase investment within the US. Cook was "really coming home in a big way," he said, after having been "elsewhere" before. Additionally, he pressed the CEO of Apple for a specific amount of funding.

He replied with the number: $600 billion. Additionally, he commended the US President for establishing the foundation for Apple's expansion in the US. He wants to express his gratitude to Trump for establishing the conditions that allowed them to invest heavily in the US. At a luncheon that US First Lady Melania Trump also attended, Cook said, that speaks a lot about his focus, his leadership, and his focus on innovation.

Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, was seated to the right of the US President when he asked him the identical question regarding American investment. In addition, Zuckerberg mentioned $600 billion. When asked about Google's investment, CEO Sundar Pichai responded that it was far over $100 billion. Over the next two years, it will exceed $250 billion in the US.
