Retym Raises $75M to Revolutionize AI Networking with DSP Chips

Retym, a chip firm, has raised $75 million in Series D funding to create innovative DSP chips for AI data centers.

Spark Capital is leading a $75 million Series D fundraising round for semiconductor technology startup Retym. Retym's total funding reached over $180 million thanks to further contributions from its current sponsors, Kleiner Perkins, Mayfield, and Fidelity Investments.

The business, which has its headquarters in Silicon Valley, focuses on creating programmable coherent digital signal processing (DSP) solutions for cloud data center networking and artificial intelligence. High-speed data transfers between and within data centers are made possible by semiconductor technology.

The Series D funding will support product development and production scaling, according to a statement from Retym. According to Sachin Gandhi, co-founder and CEO of Retym, the company is well-positioned to take the lead in providing affordable and power-efficient DSP innovation for the quickly changing landscape as demands for AI infrastructure increase.

According to James Kuklinski, general partner at Spark Capital, the exponential growth of AI workloads is placing previously unheard-of strain on vital infrastructure.

The outstanding team at Retym is in a unique position to tackle these issues and create products that will allow for notable improvements in scalability and performance. As Retym carries forward their mission to provide solutions that will contribute to the next wave of AI innovation, we are thrilled to work with them.

Thousands of processors required for AI models like ChatGPT are connected by DSP chips. According to Reuters, Marvell Technology currently controls the majority of the DSP chip market.
