A former T-Mobile executive, Cole Brodman, has become Opanga Networks' CEO

Opanga Networks, a startup in the telecommunications sector, has appointed Cole Brodman, former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of T-Mobile about a decade ago, as its new CEO. The company's founder and former CEO, Dave Gibbons, who previously served as an executive at AT&T, will continue to serve on Opanga's board of directors. Brodman expressed his enthusiasm for joining Opanga as the company introduces its latest innovation, the Opanga Rain platform, which leverages machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. This platform integrates Opanga's existing solutions with new advancements to enhance wireless network efficiency while minimizing power consumption. Brodman praised Opanga's offerings, emphasizing their potential to assist operators in network growth and cost reduction simultaneously. Furthermore, Brodman aims to spearhead Opanga's expansion beyond its current scope, highlighting a growth-oriented approach to operations.

He cited Opanga's software's capability to alleviate network congestion by 15% to 40% through video traffic rebalancing, leading to significant energy savings of up to 40%. Opanga's products are noted for their platform and vendor agnosticism, enabling network operators to deploy them seamlessly atop various software and Radio Access Network (RAN) architectures. Brodman emphasized that Opanga's network optimization software relies on proprietary AI and ML technologies rather than newer offerings from companies like Google and Amazon. Brodman underscored the scalability and data privacy of Opanga's platform, noting its ability to enhance performance with increased data ingestion while safeguarding customer data within the telco network. Although Brodman refrained from discussing Opanga's specific clients or financials, he revealed that the Seattle-based company boasts approximately 50 employees.
