Samsung may opt to steer consumers towards the Galaxy S23 FE, offering various carrier deals and incentives
Yesterday, Samsung unveiled two new mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55, to round off its Galaxy A series for 2024. While the company disclosed availability and pricing details for the European market, it remained tight-lipped about the US market, particularly regarding the Galaxy A55, which appears to be excluded from the US launch. Concerns arose over Samsung's silence regarding the availability and pricing of the Galaxy A35 and A55 in the US market. CNET contacted Samsung USA for clarification, and it has been confirmed that the Galaxy A55 will not debut in the US, at least for the time being.
However, the Galaxy A35 is set to launch in the US in the near future. While the rationale behind excluding the Galaxy A55 from the US market remains unclear, it may be attributed to its pricing and potential competition with Samsung's own Galaxy S23 FE. Last year, the Galaxy A54 was introduced in the US with a $450 price tag. The Galaxy A55 boasts several enhancements this year, including a faster 4nm processor (Exynos 1480), a metal frame, Gorilla Glass Victus+, Samsung Knox Vault, and an eSIM, which could potentially justify a higher price point compared to its predecessor.
