According to reports, Google is working on improving the integration between ChromeOS and Android devices, so soon the two could become best friends.
An expert in the field named AssembleDebug on X (the platform that was originally known as Twitter) recently examined the Google Play Services version 24.06.12 files and discovered indications of this change. After raising several internal red lights, he discovered that two new features are now being created and that some components would be renamed to better reflect the changes. According to 9To5Google, Device Connections will now be known as Devices & Sharing, and a new option called Cross-Device Services is accessible.
Users can choose which Android phones and Chromebooks to add to their cross-device network when they first tap this section. There doesn't seem to be a limit on how many devices you can link at once. It also seems that you can send invites in masse to hardware that is nearby during this period. You can access the functions that were previously listed once the setup is finished. Note that although each tool includes a short description that offers some clarification, the exact process behind each one is yet unknown.
That's pretty much all the information available in this most recent info dump. Since AssembleDebug was able to start the upgrade and the interface is nearly finished, we feel confident in saying that the patch will be released soon. Android Police believes that it will be available along with other updates for Google's March Feature Drop next month, while the exact release date is unknown. Two of these are Bluetooth Quick Settings and eSIM transfer software.
