About the Leader
Gale Klappa, Executive Chairman of WEC Energy Group, has almost 40 years of experience in the public utility sector, with 26 of those years spent as a senior executive. Mr. Klappa was Wisconsin Energy and We Energies' chairman and chief executive officer starting in May 2004. He took on the same responsibilities for WEC Energy Group after leading the company through the completion of its June 2015 acquisition of Integrys Energy Group. On February 1, 2019, the board of directors selected Mr. Klappa as Executive Chairman and Chair of WEC Energy Group, a role he still holds today.
