Martha's work started at the defense department, where she was part of systems for cooling the propulsion of military vehicles. "I want to create a company that has an atmosphere where we could all do great things, not just get things done fast" Martha says. It was no more just designing machines, but creating spaces that would be inspiring for the people.  Thus, Hedgeford & Berkley came into being. As one that specializes in residential and luxury design, the firm is fast staking a claim in the marketplace as a designer and builder wholly dedicated to matching clients' expectations and delivering extraordinary quality and innovation transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Martha, co-founder and principal designer at Hedgeford & Berkley, creatively directs the business while managing its execution. She emphasizes the importance of detail and precision in design, stating, "Dream is one thing to execute and another." She is passionate about the process and how to build it, through a process of build assess iterate. Her leadership lends itself to a self-driven, high standard culture where her team embraces challenges with the expectation of every project to be excellent.

Design is not the extent of Martha’s admiration for leaders. Martha is cheery now about the future-that much is clear. The company is currently establishing itself as a consultancy for the construction of magnificent homes in the Bahamas, another perfect chapter in this storied growth. Looking ahead at the next five years, Martha has no limits on her vision. "We've already gotten beyond what I had set as goals for three years out, and we keep getting bigger opportunities than we ever imagined."

However, Hedgeford & Berkley will be working with other like-minded leaders to challenge the limits of imagination and not rest upon laurels, but inspired and led by example through bold designs.
