Could you please elaborate on the conditions or incidents that resulted in the formation of Fortuna BMC?

I started Fortuna (fortunabmc.com) in my kitchen with help from LegalZoom and GoDaddy. It was challenging to prove my capability without a track record. So, I focused on networking and providing value. I took on small contracts to gain experience, which paid off as Fortuna grew. It's now recognized as one of the top one hundred fastest-growing veteran-owned businesses in America. My focus was on serving others, which helped fulfill Fortuna's mission.

What are Fortuna's primary areas of focus as an IT staffing and consulting company? 

At Fortuna, we focus on understanding our customers' personalities and cultures to provide customized solutions for sourcing employees and project management. We use feedback and metrics to understand the needs of the organizations we work with. Our veteran hiring solution partners with programs to assist retiring soldiers and military spouses in transitioning to the civilian workforce, achieving partnerships with the US Army Reserves, DoD, and US Chamber’s Military Spouse Program. Our goal is to ensure that service members, veterans, and military spouses find employment after leaving the military.

Could you give us a success story or two that details the difficulties your clients faced and how Fortuna assisted them in overcoming them? 

Our client faced a major challenge when their specialist, who played a crucial role in a technology implementation project for a state government healthcare administration platform, resigned unexpectedly. This left our client in a difficult position without a backup plan. Fortunately, our team at Fortuna BMC was able to quickly provide specialized personnel to fill the gap and ensure the project stayed on track. With the help of our dedicated team, our client successfully completed the project despite unforeseen obstacles. This partnership also led to the development of our veteran hiring solution, which has been a great success in helping soldiers, veterans, and military spouses find employment after their military service. At Fortuna BMC, we are committed to empowering our people and providing valuable services to our clients.

Describe the Fortuna team for us. What benefit do they offer the business? 

The worth of the Fortuna squad is both quantifiable and incalculable. The way they care for our people and put their all into all they do is one of the qualities about them of which I am most proud. I have frequently witnessed situations where an employee is dealing with a family medical emergency or something similar, and the rest of the team steps in without hesitation to help so that the employee can go take care of their own business. Family is the most important thing to us at Fortuna, and we live up to that motto. It's very easy to become engrossed in commercial affairs and lose sight of the fact that individuals are more than just statistics. 

What novel pursuits is Fortuna presently engaged in?  

In order to renovate a 200-year-old building in downtown Fayetteville, North Carolina, we recently secured a 20-year lease. Additionally, we are forming global alliances that will open up employment opportunities for our veteran hiring pipeline. We are also branching out into new space, nanotech, and AI industries. We want to be at the forefront of anything fresh and emerging in the tech world.

People are important to Fortuna BMC, and they always come first.
