DeltaXignia is a specialist in content and data change management, with a patented solution originally designed to track and manage changes in electrical circuit design using XML. Over the past 30 years, the company has evolved into a trusted partner for large global enterprises operating in highly regulated industries, including aviation, financial services, legal, high technology, and life sciences.
Its technology is deeply embedded within customer environments, forming a critical part of content management and network configuration systems. Many clients have relied on DeltaXignia’s capabilities for more than two decades, reflecting long-standing trust and proven performance at scale.
At its core, DeltaXignia was built to solve a fundamental challenge: the accurate management of change in content and data over time. This focus remains central to its identity, captured in its guiding principle, “Where Change Matters.” Backed by patented technology and deep domain expertise, the company continues to deliver precise, reliable change intelligence for organizations where accuracy is essential.
Business Fortune spoke exclusively with Eithne Devine-Hynes, CEO of DeltaXignia, on how the company is redefining content and data change management for highly regulated industries through soluton DeltaNova, its enterprise-scale Change Intelligence Layer, enabling precise, auditable, and scalable workflows that power mission-critical documentation and digital infrastructure.
Interview Highlights
What are the biggest challenges companies face today in managing document and data workflows, particularly in highly regulated environments, and how does DeltaXignia address these challenges differently from traditional tools while ensuring compliance, auditability, and trust in mission-critical documentation?
Firstly, it is important to distinguish that DeltaNova is a solution, not a tool. There are compare and merge tools available that attempt to address these challenges, but they are typically standalone applications running on local hardware and delivering ad hoc results. DeltaNova’s key differentiator is that it operates at enterprise scale, delivering at scale speed, size, and accuracy, while providing an unrivalled Change Intelligence Layer that can be embedded within existing workflows and technology infrastructure.
We enable customers to execute DeltaNova’s Check, Compare, and Merge operations precisely when and where they add value. The depth of customization and integration we offer ensures these capabilities can be seamlessly incorporated into existing systems and processes, something standalone diff and merge tools cannot support.
In highly regulated environments, unseen changes can have serious consequences. Whether it is the precise power requirements of a semiconductor, installation instructions for a military vessel, or documentation for a commercial aircraft component, accuracy is critical. This is where the Change Intelligence Layer becomes essential.
It allows customers to perform comparisons and merges in line with their workflows, whether during document editing to catch changes at the source, during review cycles to ensure quality, or at the point of consumption, where clear, human-readable change intelligence helps users understand exactly what has changed. This ensures compliance, strengthens auditability, and builds trust in mission-critical documentation.
Precision and accuracy are central to your solutions. Can you walk us through how your patented comparison technology ensures 100% reliable results, even for highly complex or non-standard document structures?
Absolutely, 100% accuracy is a mainstay in how we operate as a business. When our customers operate in highly regulated industries, “good enough” simply isn’t acceptable. We begin by pre-processing data and document sets, enabling customers to control, with fine granularity, exactly how comparisons run. For example, they may choose not to compare images or to ignore specific internal tracking attributes within a document or dataset.
We then apply deterministic algorithms, ensuring that given the same two inputs, the output is always identical. This differs from AI models like Large Language Models, which rely on probabilistic methods and can produce varying outputs from the same inputs. Our approach generates a patented DeltaOutput, a highly structured, machine-readable XML format that captures all change intelligence from the source documents.
After comparison, configurable post-processing transforms the DeltaOutput into human-consumable formats such as redlined documents, side-by-side views, or detailed change reports showing the number and location of changes. This makes the solution especially powerful, as it can ingest unstructured content, process it, perform comparisons, generate structured change intelligence, and output a final version. Businesses handle vast volumes of unstructured data, and we address Check, Compare, and Merge challenges across both structured and unstructured environments.
DeltaXignia has over 30 years of expertise in content and data comparison. How has your approach evolved to address growing content complexity across industries while ensuring scalability and flexibility for large enterprises?
DeltaXignia has spent over 30 years evolving its solution and expertise, expanding beyond XML to include structured formats like JSON and HTML, and more recently unstructured formats such as DOCX, PPTX, and PDF. Its advanced change detection capabilities now support word-by-word and character-level comparisons, complex tables, image comparison, MathML, and more, making it one of the most comprehensive compare-and-merge solutions available for highly regulated industries.
More recently, DeltaXignia has reinvented its portfolio by redesigning and integrating eight separate products into a single unified solution, DeltaNova, set to launch in July 2026. DeltaNova consolidates all capabilities into one platform that integrates seamlessly into existing systems and workflows. It produces machine-readable outputs and supports human decision-making through Insights, a web-based interface offering multiple ways to visualize and analyze changes.
The platform will continue to expand, adding support for more formats and capabilities over time. DeltaNova’s use cases span enterprise functions, from IT network management and legal contracts to technical publications and AI readiness. As accurate content at scale becomes critical for AI adoption, DeltaNova serves as a Change Intelligence Layer.
Many of our customers have been with us for more than twenty years, giving us deep insight into their evolving needs. We have a dedicated research and development function and a highly qualified engineering team continuously working on new algorithms to improve scale, speed, scalability, and accuracy. This Change Intelligence Layer centralizes validation, comparison, and merge capabilities into a reusable service that processes changes, determines their significance, and drives downstream actions across teams and divisions.
AI is increasingly shaping content management and data workflows. How is DeltaXignia leveraging AI to enhance human-in-the-loop decision-making while maintaining strict accuracy standards?
We are taking a very considered approach to ensure that any AI we introduce into our portfolio is accountable. Our customers, many of whom operate in highly regulated industries, cannot rely on change detection from an “AI black box.” For them to have confidence, they need to understand how changes are detected and how those changes are managed and accepted into their documentation or data.
We are proud to be working with Aston University on a multi-year, three-way funded project supported by Aston, Innovate UK, and DeltaXignia. This joint initiative focuses on understanding how AI can be applied in content and data change management, and how it can be used to deliver industry-leading accuracy.
We will continue to stay at the cutting edge of change management in content and data, leveraging AI across algorithms, tools, and technologies. At the same time, we will adopt it only where it makes practical sense for our customers and supports the high levels of accuracy they require.
