The revolutionary Weapons Detection System Software from Athena Security, powered by CEIA OPENGATE, is made to screen individuals more quickly while they have their backpacks, purses, and other belongings on them. It can identify a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous threats, including assault weapons of high caliber. Homeland Security best practices are now integrated into Athena's WDS to assist your organization in maintaining compliance.

The Weapons Detection System (WDS) includes the OPENGATE^® HD active walkthrough metal detection and induction system, a controller tablet, a monitor tablet, LIDAR (optional thermal camera), a visual camera, and patented artificial intelligence technologies to help officers operate the system following Homeland Security guidelines. The device can be installed indoors, outdoors, or easily transported for event security.

The system meets the Federal Standard and provides real-time alerts in audio and visual formats. This is in line with Homeland Security's best practices for weapons detection systems and walk-through metal detectors. 

The Athena's concealed weapon detection mechanism scans people walking at a moderate pace toward the controller tablet. When a possible threat is detected on someone, the weapon detection controller tablet can show "Object Detected" or "CLEAR" if there is no threat.
