Although no illnesses have been reported as of yet, Suzanna's Kitchen has recalled ready-to-eat chicken fillets after a lab found Listeria monocytogenes.
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the Department of Agriculture recalled more than 13,000 pounds of ready-to-eat grilled chicken breasts due to concerns that they might be tainted with Listeria monocytogenes.
About 13,720 pounds of ready-to-eat grilled chicken breast fillet products were recalled by Georgia-based Suzanna's Kitchen, according to the FSIS's announcement. A third-party laboratory revealed a positive result for Listeria monocytogenes in the chicken product, prompting the recall. Distribution centers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Ohio received the fillets for foodservice sales.
The affected goods are 10-pound cases that hold two 5-pound bags of fully cooked grilled chicken breast fillets with rib meat. The package and case sides have the lot code 60104 P1382 287 5 J14.
Also, the USDA mark of inspection on the articles has establishment number P-1382. Thus far, there have been no verified reports of illness brought on by eating the fillets. It is advised that anyone worried about a product-related disease get in touch with a medical professional. Customers were not given any information about how to get a refund.
