To accelerate AI-driven innovation and client value, Accenture announces significant leadership changes as well as a daring new business unit.
With effect from September 1, Rajendra Prasad, who is presently Accenture's chief information and asset engineering officer, was promoted to global chief executive-technology and CTO. Karthik Narain, who is leaving the company to seek other possibilities, is replaced by him. Prasad, who has been with Accenture for two decades, came from TCS in 2005 as a manager and lead for process and delivery excellence. He was promoted to global automation lead for tech after graduating from NIT Warangal, and last year, he was appointed chief information and asset engineering officer of the company.
Another noteworthy move is that Accenture will combine its operations, strategy, consulting, and technology services into one integrated business unit dubbed Reinvention Services. Manish Sharma, Accenture's current CEO of the Americas, will manage this new business unit. Sharma will be the first chief services officer at Accenture. Reinvention Services will be able to develop more innovative solutions more quickly as an integrated business unit and more readily incorporate data and AI into its offerings.
Accenture has announced leadership changes effective September 1, with John Walsh becoming CEO of the Americas, replacing Sharma. Walsh will remain on the Global Management Committee (GMC), alongside returning member Kate Hogan, the new COO of the Americas. Kate Clifford, the current CHRO, will also join the GMC.
To meet client demands for faster value and adapt to the AI era, Accenture will continue its industry-focused marketing and operations through three regional markets: Asia-Pacific, the Americas, and EMEA. Chair and CEO Julie Sweet emphasized that these adjustments will enhance their growth and position Accenture as a leading, AI-enabled professional services organization and a great workplace for innovators.
