Cisco Unveils AI Security Innovations and New Strategic Alliances

At RSA 2025, Cisco launched major updates to Cisco XDR and Splunk Security, revealed Foundation AI, and deepened its partnership with ServiceNow to strengthen cybersecurity in the AI era.

Cisco, during the RSA Conference 2025, announced significant partnerships and technologies to help security teams solve the growing challenges of the AI era. The business launched Foundation AI and announced its relationship with ServiceNow. Additionally, it declared that Splunk Security and Cisco XDR now have additional functionalities.

According to Cisco's upcoming 2025 Cybersecurity Readiness Index, 86% of organizations globally reported having AI-related security incidents during the last 12 months. Jeetu Patel, chief product officer and senior vice president, asserts that to combat underfunded security operations and IT leaders, they must have their own AI capabilities.

New features have been added to the company's XDR to aid security personnel in promptly identifying and addressing threats. By integrating information from Splunk, networks, endpoints, and threat intelligence, the new Instant Attack Verification tool leverages agentic AI to autonomously generate and carry out investigation plans. Teams can verify and thwart attacks more quickly and confidently because of it.

Other enhancements include automatic XDR Forensics, which enhances understanding of endpoint activity, and XDR Storyboard, a tool that aids teams in responding more quickly by visualizing complicated attacks.

Cisco announced a new partnership with ServiceNow to enhance its AI Defense efforts and assist enterprises in implementing AI securely and managing risks. The collaboration will integrate ServiceNow SecOps and Cisco AI Defense.

Additionally, Cisco introduced Foundation AI, a group that was created as a result of acquiring Robust Intelligence. Having security applications in consideration, the team released the first open-source rationale model. They will also publish new benchmarks and tools to improve AI resilience in cybersecurity settings, in addition to the model.
