Beginning on August 5, Bytedance's video editing tool CapCut will no longer provide free cloud storage for hosting creative files.
Users have been notified by Capcut about changes to its conditions for the free tier in the last few days. The company's one gigabyte of free cloud storage, which was offered until now, is disappearing. As of right now, Capcu cloud storage will cost money.
For 100GB of storage, CapCut provides a $2.49 monthly plan; for 1000GB of storage, the plan costs $7.49. This implies that artists will have to purchase additional storage or use a different cloud service provider to distribute their assets.
With the free tier, the app allowed up to five collaborators on a single account; however, it is currently only allowing two users.
According to a statement from the firm, users will be allowed to add one collaborator for free to their CapCut account starting on August 5. CapCut provides the Team Tier package, which enables users to work together with multiple user accounts to share cloud space, in case they choose to cooperate with more individuals.
YouTube released the Create app, a competitor to CapCut, earlier this year in 13 new regions, including Brazil, Spain, Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong.
