Joe Rogan and Spotify new contract

"The Joe Rogan Experience" will no longer be available just on Spotify, which is a significant departure from Rogan's previous agreement with the music giant.

The host of one of the most well-liked and divisive podcasts in the United States, Joe Rogan, and Spotify announced on Friday that they have inked a new multiyear deal.

"The Joe Rogan Experience" will no longer be available just on Spotify, which is a significant departure from Rogan's previous agreement with the music giant. "There will be more platforms where the show can be found soon," the news announcement from the company stated.

The announcement coincides with Spotify seeming to be reorienting its podcast content strategy, moving away from exclusive deals that capped the distribution of popular episodes.

Recently, Spotify gave up exclusive rights to Alex Cooper's "Call Her Daddy," another well-known podcast. This week, a headline from the tech website The Verge said it all: "Spotify's exclusivity era nears its end."

Once a comedy star and stand-up comedian, Rogan developed a passionate fan base as a media mogul and an unusual political analyst. However, he has also demonstrated that he can stir up controversy. For example, he was heavily criticized two years ago for spreading false information about COVID. The Wall Street Journal broke the story of Rogan's new contract with Spotify first, stating that the value of the deal might reach $250 million. According to reports, Rogan and the corporation had a prior agreement for approximately $100 million.
