Cisco and Hitachi Vantara have announced the initial results of their partnership, aimed at offering managed-as-a-service products to hybrid cloud-based enterprise clients.

The first results of the cooperation between Cisco and Hitachi Vantara, which was signed last year, have been revealed. The partnership's goal is to provide managed-as-a-service products to enterprise clients who have hybrid cloud setups.

A variety of converged infrastructure services are included in the combined offering, Hitachi EverFlex with Cisco Powered Hybrid Cloud, which combines storage capabilities from Hitachi with networking, computing, and software technologies from Cisco. The services offer consumption-based pricing and are fully customizable.

According to Jeremy Foster, senior vice president and general manager of Cisco Compute, organizations are finding that consumption-based IT infrastructure provided as a service can help them overcome issues that are frequently present in hybrid cloud deployments, such as operational complexity, rising costs, and increasing security risk.

The Cisco Unified Computing System X Series servers and its Intersight cloud management platform make up the majority of the technology used in the services. Under its hybrid cloud umbrella, Cisco also offers a range of other networking solutions, including security, Nexus switches, and SD-WAN support.

In June 2023, Hitachi Vantara and Cisco revealed their collaboration to develop hybrid cloud services. They committed to combining Cisco networking technologies with Hitachi's storage products, as well as providing data center infrastructure and managed services for hybrid clouds.
