The Chester County Food Bank, is putting a lot of effort to guarantee that individuals facing food insecurity have a hot meal to be thankful for and celebrate.

The Chester County Food Bank, like many others in the Exton, Pennsylvania area, was founded in response to the rising rates of hunger in the county during the recession, and it is working hard to ensure that those who are facing food insecurity have a warm dinner to celebrate and express gratitude.

The busiest time of year for Chester County Food Bank, according to senior marketing manager Anne Shuniak, is during the Thanksgiving preparations.

In addition to providing daily meals for over 6,000 households, Shuniak stated that they are also providing Thanksgiving meals to over 6,000 families.

The food bank is essential to community partners like Tabernacle Baptist Church of Coatesville, since it provides their families with holiday sustenance.

According to José Frazier, the chief operating officer of the food bank, every family would receive a selection of canned items, fresh vegetables, and either chicken or turkey. According to Frazier, the squad as a whole has been getting ready for the holidays since July.

According to the group, donations have decreased by about 30% this year. Wednesday, Nov. 22, is the last day to donate in time for Thanksgiving. The next Monday is when the food bank is scheduled to reopen.
