Sales of Rise of the Ronin exceed Nioh and sequel

Despite not being released on PlayStation 5 for a few more weeks, Rise of the Ronin's sales for its action RPG genre are already surpassing Nioh and Nioh 2, the games that spiritually came before it.

The most recent financial report from Koei Tecmo contains information about Rise of the Ronin's sales. Despite being a brand-new triple-A game, Koei Tecmo has announced that the sales of Rise of the Ronin are surpassing those of the Nioh series. This remarkable achievement is seen as a significant milestone for the holding company's future growth in the mid- to long-term.

However, no precise sales numbers were provided. Team Ninja declared in 2022 that a total of 7 million Nioh series had been distributed globally.

The financial report indicates that Rise of the Ronin has been receiving positive reviews from both players and critics, which is a strong indication of its success. Additionally, Koei Tecmo's internal findings about the game were also mentioned, adding to the positive outlook for the game's future. Koei Tecmo highlighted the "very high" user and "generally favorable" Metacritic score of Rise of the Ronin. They emphasized the game's graphics, plot, and fighting.

Rise of the Ronin, developed by Team Ninja, is an open-world action role-playing game where players embody an anonymous Ronin on a perilous journey set in mid-19th-century Japan.
