Business Fortune
Nothing is more resilient in the business world than a family-run company. The correct values that contribute to laying the groundwork and creating a legacy that endures are the cause of this. These companies prioritize building relationships, which helps them draw in long-term business partners. In 1952, Walt Koelbel established one such family company. Koelbel & Company has been realizing the possibilities and the promise of the Colorado real estate area. After focusing on the Colorado market for the previous 70 years, the business this past year has entered marketplaces in Omaha, Nebraska, and Dallas, Texas.
Real estate developers are preparing to bring more professionalism and timely project delivery to the leading cities in the upcoming years, having recognized the importance of gaining and maintaining client confidence. It is getting harder for the buyer to select the best real estate developer because so many real estate firms have made lofty delivery promises and projects are selling out just as quickly. While there are many real estate developers offering exceptional services throughout the world, Koelbel and Company is unique.
Privately held and family-run, Koelbel and Company is a home builder and real estate developer that focuses on the Colorado real estate market. They provide a wide range of services, such as the construction of custom homes, mountain resort communities, affordable workforce and senior housing complexes, commercial office and retail space development, and residential for-sale developments. "We are especially proud of the fact that we have delivered more affordable housing units to the state of Colorado than any other developer in the past several years," stated Buz Koelbel, CEO of Koelbel & Company.
Developing Relationships and a Community
The Pinehurst Golf Course Community, the first residential golf course community in Colorado, is located in southwest Denver and was Koelbel and Company's first master-planned development project. It was created in the first part of the 1960s and was very popular. The business gradually released its residential options, with the last phase ending in 2017. About 500 different types of homes, including townhomes, patio homes, and unique estate mansions, have been developed by Koelbel. One of Denver's most illustrious private country clubs is still the Pinehurst Golf Course and private club.
The corporation currently takes great pride in the fact that during the previous few years, it has supplied Colorado with more affordable housing units than any other developer. The only way to gain the respect and trust of customers worldwide is to provide superior services.
"Having been in business for 70 years and weathered multiple real estate cycles, we couldn’t have survived—let alone thrived as we have—without delivering on our commitments to our partners and promises to our customers," said Buz Koelbel. "Our commitment is to be a trustworthy business that upholds honesty in all we do, including the construction of our homes. We take care of our community by giving back to it both financially and in kind, as well as by integrating our residences into the surrounding community. After all, we live in the community where we conduct business."
Koelbel and Company makes a large investment in the continuing education of its sales staff, educating them how to recognize various personality types, what qualities to look for in a home, and how to ask the correct questions in order to assist purchasers in selecting the ideal property. "We spend a great deal of time teaching our team how to listen!"
Koelbel and Company is currently growing its commercial branch with an eye toward the future. Along with expanding its reach into the outlying suburbs, as it did when it first started building, Koelbel is also working to stop restricting its homebuilding operation to urban infill, as it has done for the past ten years. The company has also established an Investment Division that will offer commercial property offerings.
Meet the surviving second and third generations of the success
Walt Koelbel, Sr. was the founder of Koelbel and Company; Walt was a great visionary, and the company continues to live by his two core philosophies: “Under all lies the land; we must protect it and use it wisely,” and “Patience is genius.”
Having led the company since the late 1980s, Buz Koelbel, Walt's son, is the current CEO. Buz has built the company into what it is now, a well-known and reputable company with a legendary reputation in the Denver real estate market.
As the third generation leader of the company, Carl Koelbel has led its efforts in affordable homes and led the company into the urban infill market.
