Business Fortune

Purchase to Pay (P2P) and expenditure management software solutions are offered to enterprises by Compleat Software. It offers solutions for dashboard reporting, purchase order and receipting, e-invoice matching, and purchase order approval. The company provides services to customers in Australia, the US, and the UK. In 1999, Compleat Software was established.

I find Compleat Software to be really striking as a journalist. Compleat is unique from the perspective of emotional branding as well as the high level of enthusiasm and drive I had while speaking with Phil Douglas, the CEO. It's the satisfaction I get from just knowing about the organization and conducting this interview.

Interview Highlights

What inspired the founding of Compleat Software?

The founders of Compleat Software believed that there must be a better way for firms to handle their financial and accounting procedures. that these teams and departments need to be opportunities for the organization to promote its growth rather than sources of expense.

Could you briefly describe your services?

We provide businesses with the greatest P2P software available at an affordable price. In order to achieve visibility, authorization, and control, this often begins with automating the accounts payable process, digitally collecting and processing invoices, and digitizing the automation of these documents.

It makes logical sense to expand this to include Integrated Online Buying for the majority of our partners and customers. We make sure their teams can find the greatest deals and give them the resources they need to buy what they need, when they need it. The cost of things can be lowered by 33% just by online shopping.

Numerous features are offered by automated software solutions, but this also implies that the program may be complicated and challenging to operate. How do you instruct and inform the staff members about your solutions?

It's true that these solutions used to be incredibly complicated, demanding to use, and tough to maintain. Our goal with iCompleat was to eliminate these obstacles and make this technology available to everyone, not just large corporations.

The online purchase capabilities mirror the same process that staff members are accustomed to from their daily online shopping experiences, and the system is designed to be intuitive for users.

In addition, we wanted to make sure that the program was as easy to use and maintain as feasible. For example, our extremely strong workflow tools can be constructed and maintained by someone who has no technical or coding experience.

Customization may have the unintended consequence of undermining the system's best practices and making future upgrades more challenging. How can companies plan their personalization and steer clear of this?

Once more, there have been substantial changes to this throughout time. Managing upgrades to SaaS and cloud applications has gotten a whole lot easier since these solutions became standard.

We almost never affect our users when we deploy upgrades to our solutions, all of which are under our management.

When it comes to customization, the majority of our users typically only see it in the processes for invoicing or purchase approval. Additionally, as was already said, this portion of the solution is code-free.

Superior talent and commitment are required to develop solutions for various sectors. How did you put together your ideal squad?

There have been obstacles along the way, and the path hasn't been easy. There will undoubtedly be more in the future. It frequently takes persistence and patience to find the right people at the appropriate time. As a company, we prefer to hire and promote from within wherever possible, giving our employees the best chance to advance together with the company.

How much of an impact does "innovation" have on your work at Compleat Software?

Absolutely necessary, we live in a very crowded region that is not "new." Automation for accounts payable and document management has been possible for more than 20 years. Our unwavering mission is to make people's lives easier by providing them with user-friendly tools. Whether we're developing completely new product components or applying cutting-edge methods and tools like AI and ML, we place a high priority on innovation.

How are your services marketed?

Our main marketing approach at the moment is through authors of finance and accounting software and ERP. To keep their customer base satisfied, these businesses must fundamentally offer P2P automation features. These businesses are also discovering that obtaining new business requires these technologies. Most find that working on something that isn't essential to their platforms isn't feasible; therefore, they look to us as a partner to supply these differentiators.

Naturally, in order for these collaborations to be successful, we have to make sure that our partners have access to the data and paperwork they need, as well as marketing campaigns that will enable them to advertise the products.

Are there any new services that are prepared for release?

We are now running a closed beta test for a new tool that will be added to our online buying toolbox. The response we have received has been very encouraging, and we hope to soon be able to share this with our partners and a larger group of customers.

What lies ahead for your business and its clientele? Are interesting developments imminent?

We have been steadily increasing our regional support over the past few years, starting in the UK and moving on to Australia and the US, with the possibility to eventually reach Europe.

A key component of our philosophy is the ongoing development of our main product forms in tandem with this expansion. It is imperative that we stay ahead of technological advancements and maintain our commitment to providing top-notch solutions to a global clientele.
